Introducing DogLost and how together we’re going to keep more pets safe & found

We are thrilled to be partnering with DogLost – uniting the UK’s leading, free lost and found pet service with the first free pet microchip database.

Established in 2004, DogLost has reunited over 90,000 pet owners with their loved ones. Together we hope to further these numbers by providing pet owners a service that is free, safe and secure and delivers the best possible chance of reunification with missing pets.

Microchips

The UK microchipping system is very difficult to understand and navigate. There are currently 18 different companies, with no central merged database where all owner and pet details can be checked at one time – causing many issues for both pet owners and organisations such as DogLost

Many owners are unaware that if their pet’s details are not up to date, the chance of finding their pet should they be stolen or go missing are significantly lowered. That’s when DogLost and other organisations are left to pick up the pieces.

At DogLost, the amazing team of volunteers face the difficult challenge of dealing with inaccurate microchip data. Many of the families that register their stolen or missing pets on DogLost have inaccurate microchip info, or aren’t even registered at all. This means valuable time is wasted which could be spent searching for their missing pets.

That’s where we come in! At PetDatabase.com, we believe that registering and keeping your pet’s details up to date should be a quick and easy process, not to mention completely free to register and make unlimited updates – for life.

On the partnership, Founder of DogLost, Jayne Hayes said “When we met with PetDatabase.com it was immediately obvious that they were the perfect match as they shared our vision of getting more of the UK pets home, and like us, they believe that pet owners should not be charged for this.”

Together, we can encourage more pet owners to check their pet’s microchip is registered on a UK database that meets Defra standards, with up to date contact information and ultimately bring more pets home safe and found.
