Pet Pals GC
About us
Pet Pals GC started in 2006 when Louise packed up her family for a Gran Canaria adventure that turned into something much bigger. One rescued dog and a look into her eyes later, Louise knew she'd found her calling.
Starting from scratch with zero charity experience, Louise moved her family up a mountain to live in a goat shed (yes, really!) and founded Pet Pals GC. Gran Canaria might be paradise for holidaymakers, but it has a serious dog abandonment problem - and Louise decided to do something about it.
Here's the thing about Louise: she's got a soft spot for the underdogs. The broken, old, deaf, blind dogs that everyone else overlooks? Those are her favourites. If a dog needs surgery or no other rescue will touch them, you can bet Louise is already planning their rescue mission.
Over the years, Louise has built an incredible UK team who help dogs from Gran Canaria and the UK find their perfect matches. From that run-down goat shed, donations have created something pretty special - play areas, pools, recovery spaces, duck ponds, and even stables for the other rescue residents.
No government funding here - just Louise, her amazing supporters, their island charity shop. and the donations made via Pet Database. It's a team effort that's changing lives one tail wag at a time.
We rehome dogs from both Gran Canaria and within the UK, working with our brilliant foster network to make sure every dog gets their happy ending.
